Hi,

I will be coming to Beijing for 4 days in May (12th - 15th) for work. Saturday, Monday and Tuesday are pretty much booked-up which leaves me free on Sunday for shopping (and sight-seeing). I would like to go to the Wangfujing Bookstore to buy some Chinese books and to also go to the pearl market.

Will they be open on a Sunday or am I going to have to try to rearrange my Saturday? Also it has been a long time since I have been to Beijing and I have forgotten the address of the pearl market, does anyone know where I can find it in Beijing?

Thanks,

John.

Hi John,

I guess you are referring to Hongqiao Market (红桥市场). It's on Chongwenmenwai Dajie, across the street from Tian Tan (Temple of Heaven Park). And yes they're open on Sundays.

Thanks for the replies. I should be able get the book and pearl buying out the way early on Sunday morning leaving some time for site-seeing :)
