foolip Posted April 28, 2007 at 11:07 PM Author Report Posted April 28, 2007 at 11:07 PM A transcript is available from MCLC Resource Center. I've already asked if subtitles can be made from the transcript but they said no since they've already licensed it to someone making a DVD. Quote

roddy Posted June 27, 2014 at 09:44 AM Report Posted June 27, 2014 at 09:44 AM Bump! Watched this last night at the BFI, surprisingly full for a mid-week showing of a 1948 Chinese movie which even the director admits (according to the program notes) could be seen as a bit dull. Oh, but it's good though. 93 minutes, hardly anything happens, and you still can't take your eyes off the screen. I'd strongly recommend this for learners. It's free online, there's a transcript, the language is straightforward and delivered slowly and clearly, and there are so many pauses you could do paper-dictionary lookups on new characters and still keep up. 1 Quote
