choosing a song to sing

:help Hi

I have been learning chinese for about 2 months and in a few weeks we have a speech competition in our school and one part of this competition is about singing a chinese song. the problem is that my voice is bariton and all the chinese pop songs I have heard are for tenors. the other problem is that to my ears they are beautiful but not very melodic which makes them more difficult to sing.( I mean they need professional singers with some technique to make them beautiful.) can someone suggest a good and easy song?

Perhaps 朋友? Its easy and not too difficult melody wise... not sure if I have the words though... will have a look when I get the chance...

When I went to 北京, I was asked to sing karaoke. I had never sung it ever before in my life, and I was clueless. But the song I chose was "一剪梅". I found it relatively easy to get through my first time singing karaoke. I cannot sing very well either, and I feel that the melody is quite easy to follow. The lyrics are easy to remember, too!

It's rather hard to sing the song, I think. Hardly can a male sing like him.

My recommendation is 月亮代表我的心, a classical Chinese love song.

MV on

Lyrics:

And for one who left homeland, 外面的世界, a classical ballad.

Lyrics

I think both are easy to sing.

I know very little about the tenor/bariton disctinction (my dictionary says that's someone who is "in a lower range than a tenor and higher range than bass").

However, I really really like mandarin pop songs, especially those sung by guys and those which are easy to sing. :) I'll make a few suggestions:

I almost fall in love with this guy for singing this song  It's just so great! (I think he's a one-hit wonder though~~~) The melody is very simple and clear-cut, the lyrics are short and not very difficult, and the song is slow enough for you not to stumble on words. There is another quite similar song called 我很丑可是我很温柔, but i think that one is more difficult to sing.

This one is great too. I think most of the song is quite easy to sing and not too high-pitch. But probably a bit more difficult than the above.

I sang this song before I spoke a single word of Mandarin. Several singers have made their own versions of this song. It's very easy to sing, but I guess it might be a bit high-pitch.

Finally, I really like 将军令, and it would be so awesome if a non-chinese person sang that song.... it mite be a bit difficult though~~~~ (his voice is not very high pitch, but it's quite fast)

Just watched 将军令 on youtube. I had no idea the Chinese also had a word for "bling" - 不灵

Educational AND fun.

I'd recommend 草原之夜. It's nice, short and easy to sing:

Cǎoyuán zhī yè (Singers: Tián Zhèn/ Dāo Láng)

měilì de yèsè duō chénjìng

cǎoyuán shàng zhǐ liúxià wǒ de qínshēng

xiǎng gěi yuǎnfāng de gūniang xiě fēngxìn

kěxī méiyǒu yóudìyuán lái chuánqíng

děngdào qiānlǐ xuě xiāoróng

děngdào cǎoyuán shàng sòng lái chūnfēng

Kekedala gǎibiàn le móyàng

gūniang jiù huì lái bàn wǒ qínshēng

lái lai lái lái lai lái

What's easier to sing then a song that you can sing while marching::mrgreen:

But, on a competely different note, an song that contains some easy rap, thus requires minimum singing skills and is really easy to get stuck in your head anyway is this:

Party girls

sexy

她的水蛇腰is so sexy

High heels so sexy

Lace is so sexy

High heels so sexy

Lace is so sexy

OHH

OHH

sexy

穿着学生服is so sexy

High heels so sexy

Lace is so sexy

High heels so sexy

Lace is so sexy

OHH

High heels so sexy

High heels so sexy

Lace is so sexy

In any case I would be pretty entertained watching a foreign student sing these wahahahah...
