I bought the vcds, but actually following what they're saying takes me a loong time (about 3 hours per 45 min episode). Although there are subtitles, there are quite a lot of characters I don't recognise, & looking these up takes ages.

I found the plot summary threads, which help clear things up at times, but if anyone knows of a transcript of the subtitles in digital form (for copy-paste into zdt), it'd be great...

You should be able to find the book in a nearby bookstore. A lot of the dialogue is similar. Obviously it's not exact, but it's close enough to be helpful.

3 hours for a 45min episode is pretty good going! How fast are you expecting to do it in?

If anything, I would discourage you from finding transcripts if your intention is to use the series to help learn or improve your Chinese. The effort you need to put into looking up a character (word) you see on screen in a paper dictionary is much greater than copying one from a digital file and pasting it into an online dictionary, and as such the former should stay with you longer. You might find yourself spending 10 min trying to find a character or looking up the same thing 3 or 4 times, but when it's as easy as "copy, paste, click", you're bound to end up looking up the same thing 10 times before you finally manage to commit it to memory. At least that's been my experience.

If you're wanting to translate the dialog into English, then that would be a different story.

Didn't think of that - thanks! (In fact, didn't even know there was a book!)

What'd really speed things up though would be being able to use chinese pera-pera kun / zdt to find words I don't know...

The faster the better. As a non-writer, looking some up quickly electronically multiple times would be a pretty good way of reinforcing it. But it looks like no online transcript exists, so this is all academic... :(

If you can't find it in a bookstore, it's not too hard to find electronic copies on the web. The author's name is 王海鸰.

Thanks guys! I'm not ed2k (edonkey?) savvy at the moment, but I'm sure the e-texts'll come in handy. :)

Hello

Today I read in Internet this message about "Chinese Style Divorce":

" .. Amazingly, there are even websites devoted to the translation and analysis of the script."

Do you know which websites?

Thanks.
