Pravit Posted May 12, 2007 at 08:27 PM Report Posted May 12, 2007 at 08:27 PM Quick Korean pronunciation question I've always wondered about: ㄷ ㄱ ㅈ ㅂ are voiceless at the beginning of a word, but voiced if they are between two voiced sounds within a word(담배 , 아버지, etc.). So what happens if one of these letters is at the beginning of a word, but the word before it ends in a voiced sound? Example: 잡수세쇼 "chapsuseyo" 안 잡수세쇼 Is it pronounced "an chapsuseyo" or "an japsuseyo"? 기차를 "kichareul" 저는 기차를 기다려요 Is it "cheoneun kichareul kidaryeoyo" or "cheoneun gichareul gidaryeoyo"? Also, are there any nice Korean forums like chinese-forums? I found a few a while back, but I remember they didn't seem very active or helpful. Quote
