Need Help with Certain Beauty Phrases...

Hello,

I am doing a presentation and am having some trouble translating some phrases from English to written Chinese (both simplified and traditional) for it. I am preparing a presentation on skin care and I understand that "面膜" stands for "face mask" (as in "facial"/skin care type) in Chinese but I am having trouble putting it into particular common phrases lfor "doing a face mask" "wearing a face mask" "in the process of a face mask" "face masking" "in the midst of a face mask" etc ... I have succeeding in finding these phrases in Korean and Japanese but that is because the words translate literally. It seems a bit more difficult for Chinese because it translates as "surface membrane" instead of "mask" or "pack" in the Korean and Japanese languages. If anyone could help me with these phrases I would be extremely grateful.

I need the Chinese traditional / Simplied common phrases for the following:

"doing a face mask"

"wearing a face mask"

"in the process of a face mask"

"face masking"

"in the midst of a face mask"

Once again I am understanding the language from the literal sense so these phrases may not even apply in Chinese but the equilivants would be wonderful.

Also as I have already mentioned in Korean and Japanese there is a distinction between "pack" and "mask" in terms of beauty products - is there a difference in Chinese of any sort?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Best,

Jess

The verbs for "wear" / "do" a facial mask (beauty product) are either 敷 or 做, thus 敷面膜 or 做面膜. There is no difference between 敷 or 做, as far as I know (I am a regular user you see).

Consider -

"doing a face mask" - 敷面膜 or 做面膜 (however, if you want to emphasise the -ing as in continuous tense, give me the context)

"wearing a face mask" - 敷面膜 or 做面膜

"in the process of a face mask" - 正在敷面膜 or 正在做面膜, or depend on the context

"face masking" - 敷面膜 or 做面膜

"in the midst of a face mask" - 正在敷面膜 or 正在做面膜, or depend on the context

Also as I have already mentioned in Korean and Japanese there is a distinction between "pack" and "mask" in terms of beauty products - is there a difference in Chinese of any sort?

Not that I know of. 面膜 is the name, be it in sheet, gel or lotion forms.
