这是我的初次体验。我感到了生物的恩惠。

I came across this but am not sure what is meant by the underlined sentence (I know the structure & vocab in there, but not what is meant by the speaker in saying it.)

Anyone can help? Is the sentence commonly said in Chinese?

I don't know the meaning either. Looks like it is from this source. Having read the whole piece I am still not sure what it means. I do like this sentence a lot, though -> "他用菜刀切鸡的脖子，血从鸡脖子上一下子流了出来，於是，鸡死了。"

PS - perhaps it means that the writer was grateful for the meat provided by the chicken?

PPS - I searched "我感到了生物的恩惠" on baidu and there were only 2 results that matched exactly, so I think we can say that it is not commonly said in Chinese.

And I just noticed the name of the author is "室冈隆良", from the link in skylee's post. So I think maybe it is a common saying in Japanese, but not in Chinese, as far as I know.

Yes, expressing gratitude is common in Japanese (but I've never heard anyone describe the death of a chicken as "生物的恩惠" ! )

I guess here the sentence means “I feel a boon from this creature.” Because he thought that the chicken died for him, he took it as a boon from this creature. It seems that it was his first time to see how to kill a chicken, so he felt so touched. I tend to believe that he believes in some religion, for I feel that the sentence itself delivers some religious color. In my daily life, I can always hear some people who believe in some religion with great piety speak in such a way. And I think that why it sounds a bit dodgy.
