Bighead Posted June 2, 2007 at 04:26 AM Report Share Posted June 2, 2007 at 04:26 AM Hi, anyone wanna do me a big big favor and translate this song into pinyin? Don't need to worry about the tones. Think of it like homework ;) Cheers! Here is the Chinese: Bonus points if you can translate to English ps mods. sorry if this is in the wrong category, wasn't sure where to put it.. kdavid Posted June 2, 2007 at 07:12 AM Report Share Posted June 2, 2007 at 07:12 AM A few notes on the above pinyin usage: *I'm pretty sure 都 should be dou1, not du1. *Also: 离开 shouldn't be chi1 kai1 but li2 kai1. Maybe there's another pronunciation to 离 that I don't know about? *The 还 here should be the hai2 pronunciation, not the huan2. *The pinyin here for 不要 should actually be bu2 yao4. When 不 comes before a fourth tone it almost always changes into a second. The same applies here for 不是.

It's all done by machine, kdavid (and I think gato is not one, but is only a kind agent) (And yes, I'm with you. I've never heard 离 as chi1)
Bighead Posted June 2, 2007 at 09:40 AM Author Report Share Posted June 2, 2007 at 09:40 AM 太厉害 Thanks bigtime. Still, there seems to be a couple of lines missing in the beginning. He starts with: 好难过 这不是 shenme shenme shenme.... I can't understand.... Anyone familiar with this song? I'm in Shangers now and you can hear in a lot of places when you go out... on the bus, in the restaurant, out the front of hairdresser salons... I'd like to be able to sing at least a few numbers next time I get dragged to KTV (apart from the cheesy English selections available). How about an English translation? Obviously: "Don't come back and hurt me again". Most of the other lines are lost on me though.

I think it may be this line: Hǎo nánguò, zhè búshì wǒ yào de nà zhǒng jiéguǒ, jiéguǒ 好难过,这不是我要的那种结果,结果
Bighead Posted June 2, 2007 at 10:06 AM Author Report Share Posted June 2, 2007 at 10:06 AM Of course Looking at the pinyin and listening it becomes so clear. Just like in a lot of English songs I guess. Thanks for the help. By the time I've memorized it certainly I will be sick of hearing it. Ah such is life.... gato Posted June 2, 2007 at 02:44 PM Report Share Posted June 2, 2007 at 02:44 PM Big Head, You can use the Dimsum software available at http://www.mandarintools.com/ to add pinyin and other annotation to Chinese text. I used HanConv (whose website seems to be permanently down) -- maybe Roddy can offer to host it -- and it made some mistakes as pointed by our helpful correspondents above.
