kdavid Posted June 6, 2007 at 11:39 PM Report Posted June 6, 2007 at 11:39 PM Many universities require that you take a Chinese proficiency placement test upon admission. The only certificate / test accepted in lieu of this (that I have seen on university websites) is the HSK. The best thing to do would be to contact the university you're interested in, or browse their page for international students, and read about the specifics regarding your situation. Each university may have different critieria (though I'm pretty sure the above holds true for most of the good ones). Quote
roddy Posted June 6, 2007 at 11:48 PM Report Posted June 6, 2007 at 11:48 PM Cambridge gives out O Levels? O Levels haven't been around for years, they're a national exam so they're not 'from' anywhere and even when you could get O Levels I've never heard of a university offering them - further education college maybe. onebir Posted June 7, 2007 at 01:28 AM Report Posted June 7, 2007 at 01:28 AM Cambridge gives out O Levels? The Cambridge examination board used to, until about 20 years ago! Quote
liuzhou Posted June 7, 2007 at 05:24 AM Report Posted June 7, 2007 at 05:24 AM University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) still awards O-Levels. They were stopped in the UK in 1986, but are still awarded internationally. See here. However, they don't seem to offer O-levels in Chinese. Quote
