June1 Posted June 7, 2007 at 10:20 PM Report Posted June 7, 2007 at 10:20 PM Hi everybody, Sorry to bother you but I have this watch with what I believe is Chinese inscription on the dial. It has 5 characters on the left side of the dial. I will attach a picture as to what I'm asking. Thank you for your help in advance. Quote
skylee Posted June 8, 2007 at 11:21 AM Report Posted June 8, 2007 at 11:21 AM There are only three, not five, characters on the watch. They are 福, 祿, 壽. The first character (on top) - 福 [fú] good fortune The second character (in the middle) - 祿 [lù] good fortune ; official salary The third character (at the bottom) - 壽 [shòu] (long) life Quote
trien27 Posted June 11, 2007 at 03:50 AM Report Posted June 11, 2007 at 03:50 AM skylee is correct, but I need to add this: It's not modern Chinese, it's an ancient form. Quote
