Residence Permit from start to finish

Question: I was a student at BLCU and therefore have a student visa. If I register but just don't go to class can I lose my visa?

And here's the important question: I am about to move out of my current apartment and live in an apartment where the landlord is currently residing in inner mongolia. He will be there the first time i register with the paichusuo, but he rarely returns. As I would like to leave school and may have to change my visa, will i be able to register for residence a second time without the landlord? How does that all work?
