crouchingdragon Posted June 13, 2007 at 12:26 PM Report Posted June 13, 2007 at 12:26 PM Please can someone give me some information about a snack/bun which reportedly has its origins with the Manchu. I believe in pinyin it would be spelled boa boa but not sure. Not bao bao ,possibly spelled bo bo. Is this in fact a generic term for a roundish-shaped bun or does boa boa refer to a specific type of bun with specific ingredients ? I have seen boa boa served on a plate with fish. Thank you, Quote
skylee Posted June 13, 2007 at 01:03 PM Report Posted June 13, 2007 at 01:03 PM It is 餑餑 (bōbo). It is a generic term for steamed buns, pastries, etc. (source) Quote
