djwebb2004 Posted June 21, 2007 at 08:32 PM Report Posted June 21, 2007 at 08:32 PM This is a US phrase, the exact meaning of which is a bit difficult even for English people to grasp. But I think if for example, someone was doing something for selfish motives, but pretended to be doing it for the common good with high-flown motives, you could in US English listen to their BS and say "suck it right up". What would be the Chinese translation? Quote

Are you sure? There's "suck it up", but I am not familiar with "suck it RIGHT up." http://www.google.com/search?q=suck+it+up "Suck it up" basically means keep a stiff upper lip, which in Chinese could be "忍一忍". If you are looking for something that means "cut the BS," then "别装逼了", which againstwind suggested recently, could work. Quote
JimmySeal Posted June 22, 2007 at 12:25 PM Report Posted June 22, 2007 at 12:25 PM There's also the expression "eat it right up" but that doesn't mean what he he/she seems to be describing there. There's also "suck it," but I've never heard "suck it right up" and I'm a native American English speaker. Quote

JimmySeal Posted June 22, 2007 at 12:48 PM Report Posted June 22, 2007 at 12:48 PM Yea that's probably what OP was getting at and he probably just described it really badly. Quote
