莱米西 Posted June 22, 2007 at 04:35 AM Report Posted June 22, 2007 at 04:35 AM Is there a university or school in beijing providing 2-3 months intensive courses of Chinese language and martial arts? A friend of mine in Germany wants to come to Beijing to learn Chinese recently. As he is a black belt in Karate, a language program including martial arts learning is what he preferred to. Any ideas or reccommendations would be greatly appreciated. Quote

莱米西 Posted June 27, 2007 at 12:57 AM Author Report Posted June 27, 2007 at 12:57 AM Thank you so much for your help! I'm a Chinese graduate for TCSL in BNU. And I personally recommend my friend to do his Chinese learning in a prestigous university like BLCU or Tsinghua, where I think can provide better language teaching than private schools. BNU is good, too, but only 2-5 week intensive programs are available and no kongfu courses guaranteed, while he wants to learn martial arts at the same time for a 3-4 month stay in China. I'd like to reccommend him BCLU 12 week program, which you plans to take. Where are you going to stay? Campus dorm, a flat, or a guest family? My friend lives in Germany, and his father is from London and mother is a german. I was wondering if he could contact you, say via email, to discuss his stay in Beijing. Thank you, fourmat! Quote
fourmat Posted June 28, 2007 at 01:28 PM Report Posted June 28, 2007 at 01:28 PM Actually, I'm taking the 20 week course at BLCU, from september 07 - january 08. I'm planning to stay in a flat if I can find one (I dont want to live in dorms without a kitchen etc for 6 months) but if your friend is only planning to stay for 3 months maybe he would prefer a campus dorm. I'm happy for your friend to contact me if he has any questions, but I'm by no means an expert on Beijing, in fact I've never even been there before! I recommend he spends some time reading threads on this forum, they really are invaluable! p.s. I'll pm you my email address Quote
