Hong Yang (洪洋) Posted June 22, 2007 at 03:13 PM Report Share Posted June 22, 2007 at 03:13 PM Hey, Does anyone know where I might find some comprehensive vocab lists that are already organised under categories such as: Animals Fruit & Veg Parts of the body Countries of the world etc... I am up to a point where I know some of the words in each category but I would like to learn the words for more obscure animals, fruits etc... I would also be interested in a full list of all the exclamations that keep appearing such as 喂, 咳, 呀 etc. Many thanks, 洪洋
gato Posted June 22, 2007 at 03:42 PM Report Share Posted June 22, 2007 at 03:42 PM Try the attached (UTF-8 format). It's from Kingsoft's PowerWord and unfortunately has mistakes. Also http://www.nationsonline.org/oneworld/country_names_in_chinese.htm country names wordlist_daily_utf-8.txt
Hong Yang (洪洋) Posted June 24, 2007 at 03:12 PM Author Report Share Posted June 24, 2007 at 03:12 PM Thanks Gato, This will be very useful. I'm guessing that the list from Power Word was put together manually... or is there some kind of export function on Power Word that I don't know about? Thanks, 洪洋

Marceau Posted June 25, 2007 at 01:37 AM Report Share Posted June 25, 2007 at 01:37 AM You say there are mistakes... could you be more specific? I find lists like this very interesting to build vocabulary, but I'd like to be sure as to what I'm studying.

imron Posted June 30, 2007 at 04:12 AM Report Share Posted June 30, 2007 at 04:12 AM That page is excellent. For people thinking of following the link, it has pictures, characters, pinyin and sound for a whole range of different vocabulary topics. Well worth checking out. bredmond812陈秉劲 Posted July 31, 2007 at 10:38 PM Report Share Posted July 31, 2007 at 10:38 PM that site doesnt work for me. Also, how about lists for most popular verbs, most popular nouns, most popular adjectives. I see that Delcan software has a few lists in .xwf format, but you have to buy their software to use it, and I already have Plecodict. Thanks in advance B Red

atitarev Posted August 1, 2007 at 10:25 PM Report Share Posted August 1, 2007 at 10:25 PM Attached is a list of Russian geographical names I made from some Wikipedia articles in Unicode format in Chinese simplified and Russian, sorry no pinyin. If you're not interested in Russian names, you might be interested to see, which characters are used to transliterate foreign names. To see the reading, you might want to plug into one of the popular online or off-line transliteration tools. For meanings (unless you can read Russian) of individual words you can do a search in Chinese Wikipedia and then open the English page.
