conerad Posted April 11, 2004 at 08:09 AM Report Share Posted April 11, 2004 at 08:09 AM i'm trying to figure out how to enter simplified characters online. i'm using OSX 10.2.8 on my mac and i switched to simp abc input, which works for msn, and it shows up when i'm typing it into my yahoo mail, but when i send it, it turns into question marks. e.g. ?????? ???? ??????? ?? . do i need a special program for doing online stuff? 谢谢。

novemberfog Posted March 23, 2006 at 05:23 AM Report Share Posted March 23, 2006 at 05:23 AM I am not 100% sure, but I quit using my yahoo e-mail account because it would foul up any e-mail I sent in Chinese or Japanese. Perhaps they are not setup to use UTF-8? I can read e-mails I received by changing the character encoding, but I cannot send them. Unless you can change the settings for your account, I don't know what to say about it really. Have you tried g-mail? You can set your default encoding, and it has a nice web interface as well as the ability to use desktop e-mail clients.
