LaoWai Posted July 12, 2007 at 11:38 PM Report Share Posted July 12, 2007 at 11:38 PM Google has a great new IME available for typing Chinese (simplified and traditional) via pinyin. It is more intuitive than Microsoft's and has been working extremely well during the few days I have been using it. However, documentation is all in Chinese. Download at: http://tools.google.com/pinyin/ You will see the CN blue IME button on your task pane; open it up and you can choose between the Google or Microsoft (if you have previously installed it) versions. Check the Web for comments and you will find info suggesting that Google rippled off the code from Soho, which has its own version.
ABCinChina Posted July 13, 2007 at 12:11 AM Report Share Posted July 13, 2007 at 12:11 AM Are there more functions than MSPY? Can you type pinyin tones? Will it remember your own custom compound words?
