It provides some interesting insights into how the things we use and take for granted everyday are actually made. Luobot Posted July 14, 2007 at 03:34 PM Report Posted July 14, 2007 at 03:34 PM I have to agree that it’s an enlightening inside look specifically at the best side of factory life in China. It’s also great PR for the Chumby. Not only do you wind up cheering for it, but you’ll feel good buying it knowing how dedicated and well-fed the workers are. But is this the typical story of factory life in China? And is it sustainable? Human labor is so cheap that its used in place of capital investment. The labor won’t stay that cheap forever for various reasons, and the ground may move from under in the continuing saga of the race to the bottom. Despite my seeming skepticism, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Thanks for posting the links. ps – I also enjoyed reading his earlier post: Adventures with the Venture Communist Quote
