hunxueer Posted July 16, 2007 at 06:41 PM Report Posted July 16, 2007 at 06:41 PM i was wondering if any of you read/post to any chinese discussion forums, particularly those based on the mainland. i'm on www.tianya.cn right now, which is supposed to be extremely popular, and from the looks of the numbers of posts, it seems quite active, but i can't really make heads or tails of it. the section heads aren't what i'm familiar with on english-language boards (some on tianya are culture, food, travel, etc.), and the thread topics seem really random, from what i can understand. like people just describing their outings at bars or things like that. anyway, i figured it'd be an interesting way to practice reading/writing, and it wouldn't hurt to use them to find people with similar interests in my city, but i can't even figure out where to start. gato Posted July 17, 2007 at 02:06 AM Report Posted July 17, 2007 at 02:06 AM The forum sections are listed on the left of the screen. Just go down the list and give each a try. There are ones about the stock market, cell phones, IT, etc. http://cache.tianya.cn/index.shtml Quote
roddy Posted July 17, 2007 at 02:48 PM Report Posted July 17, 2007 at 02:48 PM I often recommend the forums / groups on Web 2.0 chinese sites like douban - much less confusing. Generally less active, but at least the first 10 posts aren't "沙发!" Quote
gato Posted July 17, 2007 at 03:39 PM Report Posted July 17, 2007 at 03:39 PM Try this forum. It's got some interesting discussions. It's also been forced to go offline a few times in the past. http://www.laosafu.com/bbs/forumdisplay.php?fid=321&pageD2 慵散论坛 » 慵散社区 Quote
