Fudan Short Course: Choosing the Level of Instruction?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am enrolled in Fudan's summer language course, but am having a hard time choosing the class level. I think this is a common problem where you are not getting one on one instruction.

I am at the begining or primary level. The most basic class goes through initial and finals, concepts like time and making simple introductions. It also uses almost exclusivey pinyin. I have had all this before. The next level uses almost all characters and a little more complex conversations. I have attended the higher class this week, but even though I keep up it is very challenging and I am probably working harder than anyone else to keep up. In other words I think I am the weakest student - especially in reading characters. However, if I go to the other class I think I won't be challenged - I will probably be one of the top students. I have to decide on any changes to my classes this week. Any thoughts?
