antoineblanche Posted July 26, 2007 at 12:27 AM Report Share Posted July 26, 2007 at 12:27 AM Hello everyone: Here's what I have done so far: 目 (Pinyin pronunciation: mù): eyes, eyesight 無 (Pinyin pronunciation: wú): -less, not to have, not These 2 words are used in a title 目 無 王 俠 of a movie about honest royal police-officers. So I guess: 目 無 = blind-eye Is this a correct translation? Thanks:)
rootfool Posted July 26, 2007 at 12:54 AM Report Share Posted July 26, 2007 at 12:54 AM 目 無 = blind-eye partly right. I think 目 無 (+sb/sth) = one's eye is blind with sb/sth= don't respect /obey/care
Lu Posted July 26, 2007 at 06:23 AM Report Share Posted July 26, 2007 at 06:23 AM 目 無 = blind-eyeIs this a correct translation? No, it isn't. The closest you can get with these two characters is 無目, which would mean something like 'there are no eyes/has no eyes'. Except that nowadays 眼 yan2 is used for eyes, not 目.From the top of my head, I would translate 目 無 王 俠 as something like 'not a king or hero in sight' ([in the] eye / there is no / king / hero). But that might be off. I hope this helps.

skylee Posted July 26, 2007 at 11:55 AM Report Share Posted July 26, 2007 at 11:55 AM I think there is a typo in the OP's post. I think the name of the film is actually 目無王法 instead of 目無王俠. 目無王法 is the same as 目無法紀 (well now that there is not a king in this part of the world) -> http://www.baidu.com/baidu?ie=gb2312&ct=1048576&cl=3&word=%C4%BF%9Fo%B7%A8%BCo
