Character database with visual character components?

Is there any free database of characters broken down into visual components like, for example, Wenlin and Clavis Sinica are able to show?

I'm writing my own program/hack to manage my vocabulary lists and I would like to be able to cross reference characters by visual/phonetic component. Unihan only gets me the radicals, number of strokes, etc.
