Zhoule Posted July 29, 2007 at 04:50 PM Report Posted July 29, 2007 at 04:50 PM Does anyone have experience using RDP and/or VPN from China to the US. I am looking to have a RDP connection from China (ideally over VPN and ideally from either Shanghai or Nanjing) to a computer housed in the US. The US computer is on a ridiculously fast connection, so no worries on that side, though I worry about the speed on the China side and available options to up the bandwidth, get a provisioned line, etc. Any experiences or thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated! adrianlondon Posted July 29, 2007 at 07:24 PM Report Posted July 29, 2007 at 07:24 PM Not done it to the US (as I don't live there) but Remote Desktop and more over VPN works fine from Beijing to London. Quote
Zhoule Posted July 30, 2007 at 05:59 AM Author Report Posted July 30, 2007 at 05:59 AM Thanks for the reply, and sorry to pester you with further questions ( a great truth resides in the saying "no good deed goes unpunished" ), but what kind of connection are you on in China and is the RDP just barely usable, or is performance close to what you would see in England? Thanks Again! Quote
Rincewind Posted July 30, 2007 at 07:55 AM Report Posted July 30, 2007 at 07:55 AM Testing my current connection using a US based server, I got 1.10 Mbps. This should be fast enough for most things. Quote
