Polus Posted July 30, 2007 at 07:57 AM Report Posted July 30, 2007 at 07:57 AM I found out the other day that the CSC has given me a full scholarship. They decided, for some vague reason (everything about the scholarship process still seems vague to me), to assign me to Beijing Di Er Wai Guo Yu Xue Yuan. I've gathered that the location is somewhat in the boondocks of Beijing, out on the 5th ring road. Outside of being relatively far away from the typical Wu Dao Kou experience, what can I expect from this University? I'm mainly concerned with any experience some of you had with the quality of teaching, I imagine I can put up with the location as long as I feel as if I'm not wasting my time. Any advice/comments would be much appreciated. Quote
Qcash3 Posted July 30, 2007 at 09:08 AM Report Posted July 30, 2007 at 09:08 AM I studied this year on a CSC scholarship, and they allowed me to choose my Uni. That is strange that they would assign you one, unless your top 3 picks were all full. Unfortunately I have no experience with the afore mentioned school, so I can't help you on that front mate. Out of interest, what three schools did you pick? Quote
Polus Posted July 30, 2007 at 09:12 AM Author Report Posted July 30, 2007 at 09:12 AM I picked Beida, Beiwai, and Beijing Normal. The only thing I can think of is that they may have some quota type thing, where so many schools are assigned CSC scholars? I'm not sure. I remember reading the fine print that they do sometimes assign scholarship winners to schools other than their first three choices. Quote
