bruce111 Posted August 2, 2007 at 04:12 PM Report Posted August 2, 2007 at 04:12 PM Hi I went on hostelworld.com and saw only great reviews about Beijing downtown backpackers, No. 85, Nanluogu Alley, Dongcheng District. At first, I was thinking of enrolling at BLCU but due to a change in circumstances, I am now thinking of coming on a tourist visa, book a room at the above hostel for a week and then look for a chinese language school( Global village?) and then change to a student visa. Seems that this has been done before? Is the above hostel very far from the area where the language schools are concentrated? Thanks Bruce Quote
guest1234 Posted August 2, 2007 at 08:55 PM Report Posted August 2, 2007 at 08:55 PM Hi Backpackers is a great place and the people there are very helpful. It is not close to most of the schools. It is next to the Central academy of drama but I have no idea what the language course there is like http://web.zhongxi.cn/zsjy/lxszs And not far from BeiShiDa It is 5 mins walk to the east of HouHai lake near kuan jie. If you have not been to Beijing before then this is a good cheap and clean hostel. They will come and collect you from the airport for free and also provide breakfast. I have just got back to the UK from there last week and I have stayed there many times. hope this is of some help. cheers Quote

bruce111 Posted August 3, 2007 at 07:47 PM Author Report Posted August 3, 2007 at 07:47 PM Thanks to you all for your replies. I think probably I'm gonna stick to this plan: stay at BDBH and then look for a school. Is Beishida and BNU the same thing? Quote
