Presentations and names

Recommended Posts

Okay, coming up I am supposed to give a presentation in Chinese over an American company. I was given Pepsi Cola to talk about and one problem I am running into is in how to translate names i.e. Ray Charles, The Spice Girls, and Britney Spears.

I know that names are sometimes hard to translate and that unless there is a common translation a lot of times authors or writers generally give them a transliterated name. Any suggestions or help?

Well... The Spice Girls ~ 辣妹 (?)

, and Britney Spears ~ 布萊妮 (??), in taiwan, they also use 小甜甜 (???????? grrrrrrrrr :shock: ) , I don't know Ray Charles

ok, you may go to BMG, EMI taiwan for a search for the official Chinese names ( I don't think HK branch will give you a proper Chinese name, they use English mainly, does mainland has any official site?), and I think there may not have much news on the spice girls...

or you may do a google search with the english names and target at Chinese sites

BTW: we mainland also have much news on all the artists around the world。

大陆现在关于世界各地的艺术家(包括这些钢琴家或流行音乐明星)的休息和资源都很多,信息来源也很丰富,其中也包括各种网站。
