liuzhou Posted August 14, 2007 at 07:01 AM Report Posted August 14, 2007 at 07:01 AM I would suggest you take everything you possess. But why are you asking us? Ask the consulate! Quote
WangYuHong Posted August 14, 2007 at 03:05 PM Report Posted August 14, 2007 at 03:05 PM Ask the Consulate (or check the website, which sometimes has useful information), that's the best bet! My wife has had to get a new Chinese passport (side note: passports are not machine washable) in the US. In her case (maybe it was special?), she just had to bring her old passport in, probably fill out an application, and pay a fee... She definitely didn't have her birth certificate with her, and I don't remember her needing to bring any other supporting documents. (I mean, really, the old passport *should* be all that you need, since it's an internationally recognized form of identification...) Quote
