don't think it is used in daily converstation, used mostly in written form, such as the post on the internet or some movie translation.

~的说 is irregular usage in Chinese.

there is only frankly speaking=坦率的说(should be 坦率地说).

~的说 maybe imitate Japanese or Korean, i'm not sure, but it indeed appears on the internet recent years.

1.it's not regular or correct grammar

2. it has no meaning

"還差一點就能吃到的說" or "還差一點就能吃到說"

說 here works as particle.

In taiwan some people may speak in this way, especially young people in taipei.

But I only heard few people say that. I think this is the influence of Minnanese

grammer. In some circumstence, minnanese would say "講" in the end as emphasis.

Actually, in taiwan 國語 is influnced in many aspects by 閩南語.

I think when you use "的说" in "坦率的说" (should be 坦率地说), it was a short form of "坦率的说來" or "坦率地说來" - It's equivalent to "to speak about it honestly". It is a different usage from the original term in the beginning of this thread. They are not the same. This usage here is more formal and could be used in formal writings and speeches. The original term in the beginning of this thread could only be used in speaking and in informal speaking usually.

I'm a Chinese, when I look at this sentence I think 還差一口就能吃到的說 equals 還差一口就能吃到

the last 2 charatcter in the first sentence doesn't mean anything to me. it's just to make the sentence sounds a little cute. normally people don't talk like that. only some young girls do. I hope this can helps.

I have seen young guys use this phrase -- They think it's cute, but I just want to throw up. The worst times are those adult (in their 30's or even 40's) male movie or TV stars using it on TV.
