Meaning of 視鏡

I came across this in Jay Chou's 一路向北 where basically the first line is 後視鏡裡的世界　越來越遠的道別. I understand that it means sight glass (spectacles?) or viewing mirror and probably mirror in the above context. But in general I'm not quite sure what 視鏡 means. Hope you people can help out!
