Mark Yong Posted August 22, 2007 at 03:58 AM Report Posted August 22, 2007 at 03:58 AM I often see the phrase "謹訂於..." on the opening phrases of Chinese wedding invitation cards. Recently, I have also seen them on plaques commemorating the official opening of buildings and unveiling of monuments. What exactly does the phrase mean, and how is it used? Also, does anyone know where I can obtain a template for Chinese wedding invitation cards? I would like to learn the words used, e.g. "謹訂於", "為舉行", "恭候". Is it 文言 wenyan? Also, I would like to learn the official names used for, e.g. "first son", "second daughter", "only son", etc... e.g. 唯女, 長男, etc. Quote
