Yes, he focused on "frailties of Chinese people's human nature" and devoted little space to the positive aspects of Chinese life. That's what makes him pessimistic, unless you are arguing that there were no positive aspects to Chinese life. Hmm… Well… Do you think Wang Xiaobo and his works are very pessimistic ? Thanks! Quote
