mayho Posted September 6, 2007 at 06:52 AM Report Posted September 6, 2007 at 06:52 AM Hi - I thought I'll put the call out for anyone wanting to move out of the dorms and perhaps share an apartment close to BNU? Unfortunately I've been placed in a shared room which isn't very conducive to studying so if anyone would like to look for a place, please PM me. Quote
adrianlondon Posted September 6, 2007 at 09:35 AM Report Posted September 6, 2007 at 09:35 AM You can put in a request to move into a single room. There's a surprising amount of movement within the first two weeks of the semester; rooms often become available. Quote
Jamoldo Posted September 7, 2007 at 03:58 AM Report Posted September 7, 2007 at 03:58 AM he's right or you can do what I did and look for a flat. Things should open up soon... Quote
mayho Posted September 7, 2007 at 08:45 AM Author Report Posted September 7, 2007 at 08:45 AM Thanks guys....I'll see what frees up over the next 2 weeks. Fingers crossed there's a single room available. Quote
adrianlondon Posted September 7, 2007 at 08:53 AM Report Posted September 7, 2007 at 08:53 AM Find a dorm you like (and are willing to pay for; cost is the only reason to avoid "di san" in my opinion), put your name down on the waiting list, and go and see reception every day asking if there are rooms free. Or find someone and rent an apartment. If it were me and I was only studying for one semester I wouldn't rent a studio. I'd either get together with some people and share an apartment or stay in dorm. Studios aren't that cheap and you can end up feeling isolated. Quote
orangutan Posted September 10, 2007 at 01:34 AM Report Posted September 10, 2007 at 01:34 AM Hi, I've rented a two-bedroom flat about 3 minutes bike ride from the BNU dorms. One bedroom is free. There's a lounge, kitchen and bathroom. Rent will be 1600RMB per month including all bills. I already have one person interested so get in touch asap to see it. You'll find my phone number on the advert I've posted on the noticeboard outside the e-station cafe. BTW, I'm 36, from England, here for a year. Cheers, Simon Quote
