neonoodle Posted September 9, 2007 at 11:42 PM Report Posted September 9, 2007 at 11:42 PM 郷猊謳 郷 is the character for my japanese surname and as for 猊謳 it seemed like the coolest meaning that sounded like my name. But I'm worried the 猊 might not be appropriate in a name, or the 謳 might make the name feminine. Quote
mesuper Posted September 11, 2007 at 03:20 AM Report Posted September 11, 2007 at 03:20 AM What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet Quote
knight778 Posted September 11, 2007 at 09:16 AM Report Posted September 11, 2007 at 09:16 AM This name cant be cooler... Even I , a well-educated chinese, dont know the last two chinese characters, can not pronounce them either! to be frank, i didnt see these two characters before and not to mention pronunciation... ALanguageLearne Posted September 12, 2007 at 06:21 AM Report Posted September 12, 2007 at 06:21 AM Are they Chinese? It is too hard to remember them. The easier your name is , the easier for you to be remembered. You see 大山&大牛are celebrities in China, because their names are easy to be remembered. Quote

His name can hardly be typed...As to 猊謳, I looked it up and it seems a bit weird for a name. Lion songs? The singing wild beast? Maybe you can pick one of these and find a nice matching character that is easier to read. Btw I don't think 謳 necessarily makes it feminine. Quote
neonoodle Posted September 13, 2007 at 08:21 AM Author Report Posted September 13, 2007 at 08:21 AM I was also thinking of 蜺謳 as Cicada songs. Which makes more sense & I actually sort of like the "songs" they make. But a lot of people find their "songs" annoying and they're sort of ugly. I think I'm thinking too hard about this Quote
