Mark Yong Posted September 21, 2007 at 03:55 AM Report Posted September 21, 2007 at 03:55 AM Starting a new thread as an offshoot from a previous thread that I started: http://www.chinese-forums.com/index.php?/topic/95-yi-bai-sui-bless-you26 I did some research recently on Chinese dictionaries, and discovered that there is actually an authorised Taiwan edition of 諸橋轍次 Morohashi Tetsuji's 大漢和辭典 Dai Kanwa Jiten. Below is a link I found, showing an image of it: http://www.cmarket.com/catalog/viewLargerImage.do?ID=2479309354a4a5960188044817efa484 Does anyone know where I can place an order for it (either new or second-hand), and how much it would roughly cost? Perhaps a second-hand bookstore in Taiwan? Quote
schan Posted April 29, 2008 at 03:21 PM Report Posted April 29, 2008 at 03:21 PM I, too, am looking to purchase a copy of the multi-volume dictionary. It costs US$2880 for a new set! Am having difficulty tracing this on Chinese language materials databases... Quote
monto Posted April 30, 2008 at 03:27 AM Report Posted April 30, 2008 at 03:27 AM Where Is it available in Beijing ? I would like to have a look and buy if it looks worth the $$ Quote
Lu Posted April 30, 2008 at 06:57 AM Report Posted April 30, 2008 at 06:57 AM I've seen several different editions in the library where I used to work. They are huge (the new one came in something like 6-8 boxes) and hugely expensive. But apparently fantastic (if you know Japanese). Quote
Ah-Bin Posted April 30, 2008 at 11:24 PM Report Posted April 30, 2008 at 11:24 PM The 中文大辭典 (I think that is its name) is an unacknowledged translation of Morohashi into Classical Chinese. It is published by Chinese Culture University in Taiwan, and comes in ten volumes. I don't know how much a new one costs, but it won't be as much as a large reference book printed in Japan. Quote
New Members Mike K Posted July 9, 2011 at 04:20 AM New Members Report Posted July 9, 2011 at 04:20 AM This is a fairly ancient thread, but I just tuned in. I am a newly retired prof and have the 15 volume Murohashi kanwa dai jiten in mint condition if anyone is still interested. Email me Quote
