hello @shinigami, i guess we'll see each other soon? :D. Yes i haven't booked my ticket and I have some problem, I have to be in my hometown on 26th septmber, that's why I cross my finger hoping the class will start after 26 :( :( But i'm afraid that's not gonna happen.

Hi toomii997, thanks alot for your information! Maybe we'll see each other too at Zheda. So, do we have to be in hangzhou on the registration date?

@mcytrynbaum

If you are registering for Language Program, make sure you have tick the accommodation section on the registration form. Ask to Ms Cai Dan and Ms Sun Lin for more information. Their email are available in the Zhejiang University Language Program page.

For language program, they have two types of accommodation, single and double room. If you are in a scholarship, mostly you are going to be assigned in a double room, so you will get a roommate.

Single room are available in International Building, they will cost you 1500 yuan per month. Double room are mostly in the Dorm Building No. 31, they will cost you around 1200 yuan per month per person. For sake of convenience, just take the single room. You should book the single room as soon as possible, and confirm that with Ms Sun Lin or Ms Cai Dan, as they are currently in a shortage for the single room.

@sylvester

Thanks so much for the information.

Actually I am on a general scholarship, not in the language program, so I'm not sure if it works exactly the same.

Who did you contact to book accommodation? Do you happen to have an email or phone number? Trying to get this handled as soon as possible, and really hoping for a single room.

Thanks again

@mcytrynbaum

What do you mean by general scholarship? Scholarship by your country? Master or Doctor Program in Zhejiang University?

If you got a scholarship from Chinese gov or Confucius Institute, most likely you are going to be assigned into double room.

Did you get the scholarship for Master or Doctor program? If yes, you could be assigned to a different building, which is for Master and Doctor scholarship.

For language program, usually the accommodation is handled by the International Education (Ms. Cai Dan and etc.) As I heard from @shinigami, Ms Cai Dan is on leave. So, maybe you could contact other teacher. I hope they are still working in the International Education Office.

Maybe in your case, you could ask to the PIC for your scholarship if it's related to Zhejiang University.

Hello! This forum is a lifesaver!

I plan to arrive before the registration date, maybe on september 3 o 4, I just want to know if there is no problem with that, also, in the accommodation section I marked 'arrange by school' I was wondering if it is possible to get a single room?? and I would also want to know if it is possible to pay the course fee before and submit the receipt on the indicated date??

I tried to contact Ms Cai Dan and Ms Sun Li, but they are both on vacation.

Thank you!

Has anyone contacted the uni and received a reply?

If so from which email address?

It seems Ms Sun Lin is on leave as well.

Thanks!

Hello everyone, I sent email and thankfully Mr Liu Xiang Lu (xlliu@zju.edu.cn) replied my email, but he works in Confucius Institute office, maybe he answered because I'm CI awardee? but i'm not sure.

Anw, For anyone who receives CI scholarship he said book, electricity, water, and dining should be paid by ourselves.
They will give us a bank card 2 weeks after registration and then put the allowance on the beginning of every month.

I wonder if any of you who previously stayed in the dorm could tell me approx. expense of electricity and water for one month? Do we have to pay the deposit for the dorm or not?
I asked Mr Liu and he didn't response that one, so maybe the answer is no? hehehe i need someone to confirm this.
Thanks a lot !

@toomii997 yes I'm Chinese Language student for 1 year :)

Everyone is supposed to pay a deposit.

When it comes to water and electricity expenses, it probably depends on the dorm. There are so many different dorm buildings, it is better to ask the one where you will be staying. Chinese language students usually live on Yuquan Campus.
