JohnMotto Posted September 25, 2007 at 06:53 AM Report Posted September 25, 2007 at 06:53 AM Hello, My name is Ben and I currently live in North Carolina. I am pursuing an undergraduate business degree and I speak fluent Mandarin and English. I want to do an internship next summer in Beijing, perferably a paid internship. And I was wondering if such thing even existed for American students in Beijing? I do have some friends in Beijing but no one in the business industry. I am looking to get an internship in the finance, marketing, or consulting industry. I have a solid resume with good work experiences and top grades. But I have no idea how to go about doing this? Most of the internships that I googled up was for teaching English somewhere and I have no interest in that. So any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks Ben Quote
littleknight23 Posted September 25, 2007 at 10:29 AM Report Posted September 25, 2007 at 10:29 AM Ben, if your Chinese is good enough, I think it will be easy. www.51job.com www.chinahr.com The two top human resources websites of China. Register and create two resumes, one in Chinese and the other in English The point is to use the search engine: input the keywords such as “外贸” “国际贸易” …(both in English keywords such as “international trade”)you will find lots of positions for you! Many companies just want to get a stuff with enough English skill, so if your Chinese is enough, you will find it easy. Any more questions, just contact me at littleknight23@yahoo.com (both messenger and email) Quote

JohnMotto Posted September 27, 2007 at 07:39 PM Author Report Posted September 27, 2007 at 07:39 PM Oh hi guys, both of my parents are Chinese although basically all my schooling were done in the states here, but I took time and sort of never forgotten my Chinese as I speak at home often. We also have a huge Chinese community here and Chinese is actually offered in public schools from elementary to high school so it is very easy to foster that link. But I know quite a few Americans here that speak fluent Chinese. Quote
