Is there software I need to install in order to watch TV from China and Taiwan? I've tried watching Taiwanese TV over the net, but haven't been successful.

I use tvforus.com, no s/w required.

ATV (HK), CCTV and the Taiwan channels come in but the provincial stations don't work as well they once did.

U can see any TV you want.

But you shoud use chinese to search the name of the tv u want.

There are several famous online Tv softwares like PPLive, PPStream, FeiDian where you can watch a lots of TV programmings, movies, TV plays etc. These softwares work in a P2P way, like edonkey and BT, and have only Windows Version.

I'm not sure whether the network of your home can support you well to watch Chinese TV progromming via these software since you are abroad of China.

I once found a website to watch cctv programs. It had an orangish and black background with a window to watch cctv programming but I can't find it anymore. Does anyone know the link I really want to watch that comedy with the three kids and their parents.

I'm in the US on broadband and PPLive works great for me. I always used to watch 炊事班的故事 on PPLive back when I had more time.
