rabbit Posted October 1, 2007 at 04:03 PM Report Share Posted October 1, 2007 at 04:03 PM I extended the pinyin recall mode by the options to show the definition only (instead of the character only) or to show both character and definition as the test subject. The options can be selected on a new page under "Flashcards" in the "Preferences" window. After entering the answer in pinyin, the not shown information of the flashcard (character or definition) is displayed below the pinyin input box. --> see attached screenshots I needed this functionality since I'm not yet much focusing on learning Chinese characters, but mainly use ZDT to learn the vocabulary (English <--> Pinyin) of my Chinese class book. Since the self review mode does not modify the scoring, that mode wasn't a good alternative for me in the long run. I also found it to be helpful for me to display the status text after each answer in different text colors (dark green for "Correct!" and red for "Wrong! Correct answer is ..."). Chris, if you think that these features might also be helpful for other users, you might consider to implement it into your published releases of ZDT. In that case, how may I share my code with you? bogleg Posted October 3, 2007 at 04:35 PM Report Share Posted October 3, 2007 at 04:35 PM Hey Rabbit, That's pretty interesting. Send me an email and I'll hook you up with Subversion access. What version of the ZDT are you using? The latest beta versions do have scoring for the Self Review mode now. Chris
