Thank you notes?

I was invited to dinner by an eminent, elderly chinese gentleman and his wife. The dinner was excellent, and I would like to send him a brief thank you note in Chinese. I realize that I do not know the proper format, honorifics, etc. for such a note. Any help would be appreciated!
