Jeff R Posted October 10, 2007 at 04:32 AM Report Share Posted October 10, 2007 at 04:32 AM Hi all, This is my first post and I'm new to the software, so apologies if this question has already been answered. (I did check the old threads.) I've been trying to create new categories by cutting and pasting newspaper/magazine articles I've found online, but there's an annoying little glitch when the program compiles the word list. Whenever ZDT comes across a character or word that's already been added to the new category (because it's appeared and been listed from somewhere higher up in the text I've pasted), there's a prompt that asks me to click "OK" before proceeding. Is there some way to suppress the prompt? For a long article you can easily click "OK" several hundred times just to get through the recurring instances of "de" or "yi1" alone. Surely there's a more efficient way to use the cut-and-paste function?
bogleg Posted October 10, 2007 at 09:40 PM Report Share Posted October 10, 2007 at 09:40 PM Hi Jeff, Good point. Do you think it would be more desirable to suppress the message completely or just pop up one thing at the end that displayed what it couldn't add? Jeff R Posted October 11, 2007 at 03:11 AM Author Report Share Posted October 11, 2007 at 03:11 AM I tend to think it should be eliminated completely... there doesn't seem to be much value in notifying the user that a certain character appears more than once in a pasted text. bogleg Posted October 11, 2007 at 11:08 PM Report Share Posted October 11, 2007 at 11:08 PM Well, if you're pasting a single entry I think there's some value in the fact that the user will get some feedback on why nothing happened (if it was a dupe). Anyway, I agree with your general point. I have added it to my list of things to do and attempt to make it more user friendly. Thanks for the feedback. BTW, can you point me to an example of something you're trying to copy and paste in? Chris
