Where to do sports in Tuanjiehu / Beijing?

Hello! I'm living in Tuanjiehu and I would like to do some kind of sport if possible in the neighborhood. So far I just found a health club and although it has a nice swimming pool, I find health clubs very boring places and also very expensive.

I'm looking for some team sport or classes of some martial art, yoga or something not done in a health club. Can anyone help me?

In Portugal, from were I am, I played waterpolo but a chinese friend told me there weren't any waterpolo teams in Beijing. Can anyone confirm this information?

Don't know about Tuanjiehu, but from what I've seen in Beijing there are plenty of people playing all kinds of sports in the university campuses.

I'm also looking for some guys playing football (soccer) in Beijing, preferably in or near Wudaoku.

I can not confirm it. But I have never found a place where people can play waterpolo, neither have I had any friends who can play waterpolo or ever heard about that. It seems that waterpolo is accessible only to professional players in Beijing, or even in China.

I here recommend a good place to you. “北京市朝阳体育馆”, Beijing Chaoyang Gymnasium. There you can enjoy badminton, ping-pong, and other items. Classes of kickboxing, fencing, Chinese Wushu and yoga are available at a very reasonable price.

Enjoy the life in Beijing.

Thanks Han-Tiger. I know were it it is:D

About waterpolo: in Portugal I played in one of the best teams so, although there aren't professional players in Portugal, I think I'm good enough to practice in a Chinese team, or at least try.

Thanks again for your info.

That is my pleasure, mestle.

Waterpolo is new to me. I've only known something about it from the Sport-Channel of CCTV. It is something more like playing football in waters, but with hands, not feet. Waterpolo is your favorite sport, but it is not opened to public in Beijing, as far as I know. Anyway, I will keep an eye on it.

Any questions, post them here, or email me.
