Myriam Posted October 10, 2007 at 04:36 PM Report Posted October 10, 2007 at 04:36 PM "无苦不 获取 / 成功" is my version and I found a four-character chengyu-like phrase that could be a another version : "先苦後甜". Is there a correct 成语 that says the same thing? Quote

Myriam Posted October 11, 2007 at 06:45 AM Author Report Posted October 11, 2007 at 06:45 AM Found this site by googling "chengyu 苦". Will need some time to browse through the "search.asp" for "苦"; nice presentation. Woud've been nice to get another set of chengyus by just clicking on a character, though. Quote
Myriam Posted October 11, 2007 at 08:34 AM Author Report Posted October 11, 2007 at 08:34 AM Erm, 先苦后甜 / 先苦後甜 is a chengyu , and after browsing through the four-characters 字苦字字 成语s, I can say that it's my favourite "常用成语". Quote

Myriam Posted October 12, 2007 at 03:49 PM Author Report Posted October 12, 2007 at 03:49 PM 水滴石穿 shuǐ dī shí chuān, the erosion of the rock starts with one drop of water (my personal translation...correct me if I'm wrong, please! thanks!), suggests a lifelong pursuit, or team work. 铁杵成针 tiě chǔ chéng zhēn, to shape a needle out of a chunk of iron (idem), suggests patience, endurance and dexterity. This one I heard in a film but can't remember which one. 謝謝你 Littleweed . Quote
