How to express "to be good at/with" something?

Only when I tried to express such a thought in Chinese did a realize that our English construction is kind of awkward. I was trying to ask some of my students "Who is good with cameras?" but I couldn't cobble together enough words to make a coherent statement because the English construction kept on leaping in my head (谁跟照相机...好?then confused looks). I ended up going with 谁很喜欢照照片. But now the fact that I don't know how to say such a common phrase is bothering me.

Thanks in advance!

If you want to say that you are good with taking photos you can say: 我善于拍照 or 我善长(more spoken) 拍照。But you can only use those with verbs: I am good at taking photos, speaking chinese etc.

If you want to express that you have a certain knowledge about certain things (cameras, music....) you can say: 我对照相机比较了解。

Hope that helps!

That's wonderful! Thank you. Looks like just what I'm looking for - so, in my class, I could say 谁善长拍照片?谁比较了解摄影?

Thanks again.

This is 'who is best at using a camera':

谁用照相机用的最厉害?

or who is great at using a camera:

谁用照相机用的很厉害?

Or consider these for your idea of being good at taking pictures:

1. 誰比較會照相?

2. 誰照相比較厲害?

Hope it helps!:)

Thanks guys, these different variations of such a commonly used concept will definitely be useful in the future and make my Chinese a little less monotonous. 厉害 is such a useful word.
