Klamh S. Negen Posted October 19, 2007 at 02:10 PM Report Posted October 19, 2007 at 02:10 PM Hello guys, I just bought a guitar and I wand to customise it a little bit. I found it original to put a calligraphy as a sticker on it. As I am born and have been raised in the french caribbean and that I always loved the sea I would like to write something like "son of the ocean" on my guitar. As I speak a very little bit of mandarin I tried to translate it and asked a chinese friend of mine to tell me if this is correct but as always I would really like to be sure about it cause if I ever go to China with it I don't want to be ridiculous So the translation she gave me is : 海的儿子 (Hai de er zi). So is it a correct translation ? Is it a little bit poetic or so ? Cause I'd like it to be^^. Tell me my friends PS: once it'll be done, I'll put a pic on the board Quote
muyongshi Posted October 19, 2007 at 02:31 PM Report Posted October 19, 2007 at 02:31 PM I have a friend named 海声 which means sound of the ocean but everyone always thinks it is 海生 (born of the ocean). Both of them are great and the second one might work for you Quote
