Heating options in chilly cities

if you think it's cold now, just wait til a month from now. and then another month from then! yep, you got a long winter ahead of you. i would recommend one of those satellite-dish-looking electric heaters. they're designed to be as energy efficient as a heater can be, with a reflective, dish-shaped panel dispersing the warm air, and they're just around 100kuai at a supermarket. sit by that with a cup of hot water at all times, and you should be good. well, of course you'll want lots of long underwear and (wool=produces heat when wet) sweaters. and a hat. oh, and 10 pushups every morning, seems to keep the blood circulating all day. this is my third winter in chengdu and i'm finally getting used to it. i really think it's the pushups and bike riding. we're making a 2ndhand and crafts market on dec. 2 at jah bar and there'll be lots of crocheted hats to buy, so come on down and pick one up!

When I was young in Guangzhou, we used 暖水袋. Just cover a couple in your blanket when you sleep, it can be still warm when you wake up. Since it's small, it can be placed anywhere. Also, get those hairy slippers too.
