checodelacueva Posted November 4, 2007 at 12:16 AM Report Posted November 4, 2007 at 12:16 AM Hi, there. I'm coming over to China in a month or so, and in the beginning I'll be stopping at a hotel until I can find a place to live. I'm a lover of used furniture. Do this kind of stores exist? Will they take the stuff back when I leave? Thanks a bunch. Checo Quote
muyongshi Posted November 4, 2007 at 03:11 AM Report Posted November 4, 2007 at 03:11 AM They exist but you will have to let people know where you will be otherwise the fact that they exist won't help you very much and it won't help people to be able to tell you where to go.... Quote
checodelacueva Posted November 4, 2007 at 10:09 AM Author Report Posted November 4, 2007 at 10:09 AM Hey, thanks for your interest in my thread, and your prompt reply. Actually, I'll be coming to Beijing. Don't know where you are, but are you into second hand goods, too? Are they cheap, and can you give me an example? Quote
hunxueer Posted November 13, 2007 at 11:32 AM Report Posted November 13, 2007 at 11:32 AM they exist, but they're not like the thrift shops of the west. from those i've seen (here in chengdu), they're large outdoor affairs, much of which is old office furniture or other random things, like barbershop or restaurant furniture and fittings. not to say you couldn't dig up some interesting pieces there--just might be different from what you're expecting. haven't been to any in beijing though.
