Events related to studying Chinese + other activities

So basically I just wanted to start a thread about 'Current Beijing Events' that we can add to just to keep others informed about some of the more interesting events that may be going on, but we may not be aware of...but overall, they should be fun to go to and potentially help us with our studying of Chinese in some way. Even purely fun (preferably free) activity listings would be nice:wink:

So one (that I meant to add earlier) is that the 外文句 often holds free seminars (well, once a month)~ here is the most recent from last week end one here. But in the future, you can just check out their website here for events, the lecture is usually listed as 大家讲堂

Also, there are always a ton of (admission free) expos going on, so if you hear of any interesting ones, maybe you can list them here. They may be fun to visit and learn something new.

Thanks Heifeng for starting this thread off about event related to studying Chinese... I was really interested to see it and am now glad to have something to contribute.

Chinese Culture Club in Beijing are advertising a presentation on Chinese Deities for this Wednesday (Dec 5). They say it will be in Chinese with English interpretation.

I guess the language used for talking about Chinese Deities is going to be pretty technical, but it should be interesting.

Well, I ended up going to this, it was quite an interesting lecture, however the lecturer lost some credibility when he mentioned that unlike English, Chinese didn't have grammar

　　1963年3月5日，毛泽东主席发出了“向雷锋同志学习”的伟大号召。今年，在临近这一题词发表45周年之际，为更好地宣传雷锋事迹，弘扬雷锋精神，贯彻落实党的十七大精神，促进社会主义精神文明建设，构建和谐社会，举办《全国第三届雷锋专题收藏联展》。前两届分别在雷锋生前工作过的抚顺（2004年）和鞍山（2006年）举办。

　

　　2008年2月28日上午9时30分举行开幕仪式，将邀请有关领导、雷锋生前战友、学雷锋先进典型、部队社区学校的代表和新闻媒体记者约150人参加开幕式。

　

　　《全国第三届雷锋专题收藏联展》的展览内容由四部分组成：

　

　　一、二十世纪六十年代以来，全国全军各单位出版发行宣传雷锋、学习雷锋的各类宣传品、作品、艺术品。具体有：图书、报纸、杂志、画报、画册、幻灯片、唱片、录音录像带、光盘、连环画、挂图、照片、挂历、书签、门券、火花、剪纸、像章、纪念章、奖章、宣传画、电影海报、电话卡、扑克和各种塑像、挂件、摆件艺术品等共计30大类。

　

　　二、二十世纪六十年代以来的各种邮票、纪念封、邮资信封、邮资明信片、普通信封、明信片；雷锋生前的同学、老师、同事、战友、领导等签名实寄封，以及雷锋工作过的单位公函封；雷锋班命名以来的23任班长的签名封，全国全军六十年代以来，学雷锋的先进单位公函封和先进个人签名封。

　

　　三、雷锋生前的部分领导、战友、同事、工友、同学、老师以及学雷锋先进个人颂赞雷锋的书法墨宝。

　

　　四、设立影视播放设施。运用多台影视设备播放雷锋的声音和图像，让观众亲自领略雷锋的音容笑貌和风采。

　

　　以上宣传雷锋、学习雷锋的藏品相当丰富翔实，其中有不少为难得一见的珍品，如：在雷锋生前的1959年11月10日和12月5日，雷锋生前工作过的辽阳弓长岭矿报《弓长岭报》，报道了雷锋抢救停在工地旁火车上水泥的故事和雷锋投稿决心参军的《我决心应召》的文章； 1961年8月，解放军总政治部宣传部出版发行下发连队要求向雷锋学习的战士丛书《苦孩子 好战士》；雷锋介绍战友入团的亲笔手迹；1961年2月刊和1962年6月刊，两度宣传报道雷锋事迹的《解放军画报》；1963年3月1日最早刊发毛泽东为雷锋题词的《新民晚报》；1963年3月2日《中国青年》杂志社出版的5－6期合刊“学雷锋专辑”等；1963年3月5日前后出版发行的《人民日报》、《解放军报》、《光明日报》、《中国少年报》、《前进报》（沈阳军区）等；1963年3月发行各种版本的《雷锋的故事》、《雷锋日记》，各种雷锋塑像、茶壶、茶杯、镜子、笔筒、帽筒、老唱片、幻灯片、书签、门票、书刊、时尚服装、雷锋生前讲话录音等宣传品、纪念品、艺术品、音像制品应有尽有。其直观性、可看性、艺术性、时代性都很强，可谓琳琅满目，丰富多彩，共计约三千余份。是我们在发展先进文化，促进社会主义精神文明建设，创造良好社会道德环境的教育中难得的实物资料。

　

　　参加第三届雷锋专题联展的收藏爱好者，来自全国各地。其中有干部、有公务员、有工人、有农民、有学生、有军人、有离退休人员、还有下岗离职人员。虽说他们家庭经济条件不宽裕，但都有一个共同的爱好，一个共同的心愿：怀着对雷锋的敬佩和热爱，非常执着、默默无闻、痴迷地，利用有限的精力和资金，长年累月地投入到无限的雷锋专题的收藏之中。举办这次《雷锋专题收藏全国联展》，就是要让更多的人走近雷锋、感悟雷锋、学习雷锋、争做雷锋，树立社会主义的荣辱观，为构建和谐社会作贡献。

　

　　雷锋，是上个世纪六十年代一位平凡而普通的战士，他的先进事迹却妇孺皆知、流传至今。可见，雷锋精神在中华大地上持续之久、影响之深、含盖之广、意义之大。他的英名不仅中国人有口皆碑，而且早已走向世界。雷锋的一生，只有短暂的22个年华，在他有限的生命里，却为我们留下了闪耀不灭的光辉和不可多得的精神财富。当今社会，雷锋成了人们志愿服务、乐于助人、行善事、做好人的代名词，成为我们时代学习的楷模和典范。

　

　　时间也许会冲淡记忆，但有一个士兵与时代同行，成为大众言行的座标。

　

　　岁月也许能改变山河，但有一种精神将穿越时空，成为人类永恒的追求。

　

　　平凡产生伟大，平常体现高尚，雷锋精神影响了中国几代人。

　

　　有的人活着却已经死了，有的人死了却还活着，雷锋永远活在人们的心中。
