mkengel Posted November 18, 2007 at 04:15 AM Report Share Posted November 18, 2007 at 04:15 AM Do you know if NJStar-Files can be read with other software too ? Thank you Michael
choisum Posted November 18, 2007 at 09:52 PM Report Share Posted November 18, 2007 at 09:52 PM Don't know if this works for all NJStar files. You can open them in Windows Notepad. Edit out the junk at the top and bottom and save the remainder as plain text.
imron Posted November 20, 2007 at 01:52 AM Report Share Posted November 20, 2007 at 01:52 AM Is there still a reason to use NJStar?
atitarev Posted November 20, 2007 at 02:38 AM Report Share Posted November 20, 2007 at 02:38 AM Is there still a reason to use NJStar? Hi Imron, NJStar has an offline electronic dictionary. If I didn't have Wenlin (expensive), I would use NJStar Chinese Word Processor. One benefit over Wenlin - the radical character lookup. For Japanese, you have 2 alternatives - NJStar Japanese Word Processor or JWPce. The trial versions of both C. and J. versions expire after 90 days or 90 starts - whatever comes earlier. Both pop-up and menu dictionaries stop working. You can still use it for typing Chinese. You need a little trick in the registry to overcome this. (sh) Also - not everyone has access to Windows CD's to install IME's, especially at work. NJStar comes in handy in such cases. -- I think the original person doesn't have NJStar? Anyway, you can copy from NJStar to any other app after some setting are done, so it copies properly, then you can choose a better looking font. NJStar's default fonts in the trial version are ugly.
