crouchingdragon Posted December 15, 2007 at 06:43 PM Report Posted December 15, 2007 at 06:43 PM I apologize if I have written down this phrase incorrectly; yu2bu4ke3ji2. I was led to believe that it means "hopeless stupid." Finding this phrase to verify meaning and/or if the phrase itself is in error has eluded me. Can someone kindly help me out in this endeavor ? I would appreciate as well seeing the characters for this phrase -if it even exists. Thank you Quote
HashiriKata Posted December 15, 2007 at 08:58 PM Report Posted December 15, 2007 at 08:58 PM yu2bu4ke3ji2 is correct. In Chinese characters, it is: 愚不可及 Quote
semantic nuance Posted December 16, 2007 at 10:08 AM Report Posted December 16, 2007 at 10:08 AM 愚不可及 is correct. It's more literary. Its oral equivalents can be as follows: 蠢/笨到家了... 笨的可以.... 笨死了... And a Taiwanese colloquial : 戇甲袂爬癢 (笨到不會抓癢). Hope it helps! Quote
