mikevwilliams Posted December 23, 2007 at 10:35 AM Report Share Posted December 23, 2007 at 10:35 AM Hello, I recently discovered the ChinesePera-kun addon for Firefox is able to output to a file. I assumed you set which file in the options, and then when you used to mouse over tool or did a dictionary lookup by highlighing characters, then it would output which words you looked up into the file. However I am not getting any output in the file I have set. Here are the options I have set in ChinesePera-kun: Can anyone tell me why I can't get the output file to work? The file is there on my computer, but nothing is getting written to it? Thanks, Michael
ipsi() Posted December 24, 2007 at 01:48 AM Report Share Posted December 24, 2007 at 01:48 AM First, are you sure that it's not giving you anything? Is the file size 0 bytes? I can't see anything there that would prevent it from working, but I don't have it installed myself.
ABCinChina Posted December 24, 2007 at 03:49 AM Report Share Posted December 24, 2007 at 03:49 AM First, I think you have to set the "copy to clipboard" shortcut. Even after that, I can't get it to work either. Sometimes it works for some strange reason, but the formatting comes out all wrong. Any other ideas? gato Posted December 24, 2007 at 04:46 AM Report Share Posted December 24, 2007 at 04:46 AM It only save the words you look up if you press the "Ctrl" key. Have you tried that? The formatting is screwed up because of the way some programs deal with "carriage return." The newlines don't show up in notepad, but look ok in wordpad.
